DUNSBOROUGH IS WA’S TOP TOURIST TOWN 2007!

The Geographe Bay Tourism Association is proud to announce that Dunsborough is the GWN 2007 Top Tourism Town!
Dunsborough was announced the winner at the Visitor Centre Conference Gala Dinner, in Esperance on Friday night. This is the second time in the last 10 years that Dunsborough has won this award.
Heather Jenkins, the Visitor Services Manager was delighted to accept this prestigious award.
“We were competing against some other great towns in the state,” Ms Jenkins said, “so it is wonderful to be recognised as the top town.”
“This is really a community award, as the town pulled together to showcase for the judges the great tourism products available.”
“Dunsborough is already popular with holiday makers, as there are great beaches, forest, wineries and attractions to be enjoyed, as well as a fantastic range of accommodation.”
“The GBTA works closely with local tourism operators to ensure we are providing visitors with excellent service, and we are constantly updating our facilities to ensure we can provide the best service.”
Dunsborough was also recognised by the Visitor Centre Association of WA (VCAWA) for their Management and Staff Training, receiving the award for excellence in this category.
“Staff at the Dunsborough Visitor Centre are genuinely passionate about tourism, and proud of the region in which they live,” Ms Jenkins stated.
“This passion and enthusiasm makes them a great team to work with, and easy to manage.”
“We offer incentives and training to assist our staff in providing excellent customer service.”
“These awards are a wonderful initiative from VCAWA, allowing tourism associations and shires to showcase their towns, and recognise the efforts of tourism businesses who provide the fantastic services.” Ms Jenkins stated.
