Geographe Bay Tourism Association MEMBERSHIP

The Geographe Bay Tourism Association, which manages both the Busselton and Dunsborough Visitor Centres, is an incorporated non-profit organisation that offers a range of services to both tourism and general retail or service businesses from throughout Geographe Bay and the Margaret River wine Region.

All GBTA Members are required to abide by the Conditions Of Membership & GBTA Constitution. Please ensure you read these prior to completing a application.

GBTA Membership entitles you to the following benefits:

• A web page and link on our high traffic website: www.geographebay.com.

• Visitor Centre referrals and bookings.

• Brochure or business card racking in the Busselton and Dunsborough Visitor Centres, which attract over 200,000 visitors each year.

• A listing on our full colour A3 regional map, covering Busselton, Dunsborough, Yallingup, Pemberton and the Margaret River Wine region.

• Access to our membership database (conditions apply).

• Access to co-operative marketing activities in broadcast and print media.

• Access to our image library for production of your promotional collateral.

• Economical representation at consumer shows such as the Perth Food and Wine Festival, Caravan and Camping Shows, Bridal Fairs

• The ability to purchase floor or poster display space in the Busselton and Dunsborough Visitor Centres.

• Invitations to attend networking seminars and familiarisation tours.

• A monthly e-bulletin with all the latest tourism news and upcoming events.

• Involvement in our popular tourism publications including the Geographe Bay and Margaret River Wine Region Essential Visitor Guide

In 2005, the GBTA launched the website www.geographebay.com which features an on-line reservation system resulting in heightened destination awareness and the back end fully automated reservation system has allowed more efficient and timely processing of reservations for Members. Members are also able to purchase economical advertising on this high traffic website. The website was updated and revitalised in mid 2008.

Your membership support in 2007 has  greatly assisted the GBTA in delivering a high standard of visitor services at the Busselton and Dunsborough Visitor Centres. In 2007, Dunsborough won Top Tourist Town in Western Australia - a fantastic achievement! 

The hard work of both visitors centres was recognised, with Dunsborough receiving an award for Website Development, and Busselton was the recipient of the Special Events award.

More than 200,000 visitors per year enter our visitor centres in search of information about our region, with thousands more calling on our local expertise via telephone, email and mail enquiries.

Only GBTA Members are entitled to promote their businesses at the Busselton and Dunsborough Visitor Centres. 
 
In 2005 the Association’s name was changed at the AGM from the Cape Naturaliste Tourism Association to the Geographe Bay Tourism Association to reflect a new direction. 

In addition to the services provided to visitors, our Marketing Department actively promotes Geographe Bay and the Margaret River Wine Region as a premium holiday destination to local, national and international markets through promotion of our new website, attendance at international consumer and trade shows, print advertising, production of targeted destination publication and through media and travel trade liaison.

As the Geographe Bay Tourism Association is an incorporated non-profit, Member owned organisation, your on-going support is vital for the GBTA to be able to continue marketing and developing the tourism industry in our region, as well as providing quality services to visitors during their stay.
